His notable escapes began in the 1890s and continued until his death in 1926.
On January 7th, 1906, Houdini escaped from a Washington, D.C. jail.
On September 29th, 1906, Houdini escaped from a piano box.
On September 23rd, 1907, Houdini performed a handcuff trick in eight and a half minutes.
Police observers watched locked cuffs resist every turn.
Six days later, Houdini leapt into a lake heavily handcuffed and shackled.
